Aftercare

It is optional, but I do include Second Skin with every tattoo. I will clean the area & apply the clear adhesive bandage after completion of your tattoo, unless you prefer to do a traditional healing method.
For certain projects, I may send you home with an extra, if I anticipate yours will need to be changed.
Always wash your hands thoroughly before removing your Second Skin.
Additionally, always pat dry with a clean paper towel, or air dry. Never use a towel, wash cloth, loofah, or bar soap on your healing tattoo. You can find usage instructions here:

Leave your aftercare bandage on for 3-5 days.
If it will need to be changed, I will give you instruction & an additional piece.
The Second Skin is water proof, but should not be submerged in a bathtub, pool, lake, ocean, etc.
You can remove it in or after a hot shower.
When washing your tattoo, clean your hands first, then wash your tattoo using your hand and liquid antibacterial soap. (Dial Gold or Optiscrub antimicrobial soap are my favorites.)
Pat your tattoo dry with a clean paper towel, then let it air dry for 10-15 minutes before applying moisturizer. (Any dye free, scent free lotion works great. You can use Aquaphor if that is your preference, or you can purchase a tattoo balm. Dr. Bronner’s makes a great balm as well.
Your tattoo will be healing for about a month, after that time you are free to use sun screen. Keep moisturizing & avoid direct sun for optimal longevity.
